Tarraleah Golf Course
Tarraleah Golf Course is the highest in Tasmania and surely one of the most beautiful in the state. The course was constructed in the 1950s by Hydro Tasmania to provide entertainment for the original residents in the town. The parkland course was placed with European and native trees, many of which are now mature and add majesty to the course. The very pretty course with watered greens offers some challenges and the swaying waterlillies may sometimes be distracting. The course is a Par 65 with yardage of 5900. Full sets of new quality clubs together with trolleys are available at Adventure Tarraleah. Balls, tees, hats and sunscreen are available for purchase.

There are Tasmanian Devils in this forest and some good chances of seeing them at night. The Quoll walk is a round trip that takes approximately 1 hour.
Directions: Walk through the caravan site, up past the deer enclosure. Then turn right onto the Highland Drive road and walk for 200 metres or so until you see the sign to the Quoll track. Follow the signs from here. For a longer walk the Quoll track joins onto the Eagle track.
The Tarraleah Falls Walk
Cross the pipes and take a 25 minutes walk though the bush to the Tarraleah Falls. This is a walk with a destination and you will arrive at the cantilever platform overlooking the falls. It’s a 100 foot drop below!
Sadly there was a bush fire in 2007 and the walk isn’t as glorious as it once was. However its interesting to see the vegetation recovery and the destination is well worth the walk.
